iPhone 11. My 3 year review

I’ve been using my iPhone 11 for about 3 years now, and it’s still a great phone. Sure it’s not the new design, there’s no MagSafe, the display is only a little above 720p, it’s an older a13 chip, and there’s no telephoto lens because it’s not the pro, but it’s been a really solid phone for me. I’ve never had any issues with it. I’ve been able to take some great photos, and performance for what I use my phone for is great.

It scrolls through instagram and webpages with ease, And, because that and iMessage is all I really use my phone for, it’s great. It’s still fast enough, it’s still pretty enough, and it still gets iOS updates. In fact, I could have the new iOS 17 beta installed on it if I wanted to.

Battery life is still not a concern, even with my battery being at 78% battery health. It still gets me through a day and a half of my regular use. I did have it shut down on me once, but, to be fair to the phone, I probably shouldn’t have been outside in -38ºC temperatures taking photos.

The only thing at this point in time that would make me upgrade would be an iPhone with USB-C so I could take my old macBook and my iPhone with me travelling and only have to take 1 charger and cable.

Overall, the iPhone 11 is a great phone, and while I wouldn’t recommend you go and pick one up after reading this, I would recommend that if you have one, enjoy it. You have a great phone, and you don’t really need to upgrade that badly. Maybe a battery replacement if you have AppleCare, or if you use your phone for more than scrolling through social media and taking the occasional photo when you don’t have one of your dedicated cameras, but even then, I’d wait and see what apple does with the iPhone 15 this fall.
