Parking brake issue on Audi A4 after brake pad change

A few months back I bought a 2010 Audi A4 “tow off the lot” for a little over $5,000. It had a whole host of problems, like a coolant leak that meant I could barely get it home. After fixing that (water pump) I decided to change the brake pads. One of the features this car has is an electronic parking brake, which meant I couldn’t do service on the rear pads without a fancy VAG computer. I found a workaround however. I took the electronic parking brake off and inside was just a regular Torx head screw. (normal for this car. Everything is Torx.) I wound the brake back with that and changed my pads “job well done” you might say. “No, not really” I might say in response. I broke the parking brake when trying to screw it back on. it was fine, though, I just didn’t use it. Fast forward to today. The computer just noticed the parking brake was broken. and now it beeps and gives me a notification every time I start the car. It also seemed to think the parking brake was on for a little bit. Anyway I need a new one. Reply to this post if you want to see more of my adventures with my project (and daily) car. I probably will keep posting about it anyway, because I want to, but the replies will be nice lol.

Update 14/01/2023:

I cleared the codes and everything seems to be normal now. Guess I don’t need a new $400 part?
